The MILL is currently comprised of three Equipment Teams:
- Characterization — Equipment related to identifying the structure and composition of materials
- Measurement — Equipment related to measuring the various properties of materials
- Processing — Equipment related to the manufacturing of materials into items
Each team is led by a CTO (chief technical officer) and consists of several TOs (technical officers) and staffers. Staffers for each team are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the MILL and are equipped to assist MILL users — all equipment at the MILL is divided among the three Equipment Teams according to their function. The Equipment Teams frequently work together to learn more about their equipment’s capabilities and also assist the L&D Teams.
